* I've had far, far too much to drink. But it was really, really good wine and it allows me to pretend that all that work I was supposed to do will get done regardless, like the design work, and Project 3 and Multiverse, and Citrine, and the etc.

* I don't know how one has multiple children. I can't even feel equal love for my cats. Georgie is just mine, and while I love Logan, he's secondary. Georgie is stretched out against my legs, his feet in between the arch of my foot and my flip flop and I just screamed at Logan to go away and stop hastling my mouse.

* [livejournal.com profile] rubberneck - Dude, Haunted Detox all the way. I squeed and squealed when I saw your drabble because I could so co-opt that scene for a fic that's still living in my brain and while we're at it, I sat at this lovely bar and watched a father and his kid sit there and talk and thought we so need a scene like that.

* I love LJ. Because only here could a post that started out mournful end up in the throes of adoration and worship of the physical self when [livejournal.com profile] cofax7 posted a link to a slew of pretty for upcoming SG1 and derail a bunch of us into lustful, leather filled thoughts. And the reality? Much as I have an insane crush on both John Crichton and Ben Browder (for different reasons, although they're clearly connected), my girl crush on Claudia Black is what's likely to draw me to the first few eps of SG1 Season 9, because damn he looks good, but she looks even better.

Is it wrong that I have a teeny, tiny crush on Bob Geldof? Yeah, I thought so.

But the fact that MTV and VH1 are trying to make up for their travesty of coverage last weekend to show 5 uninterrupted hours of the Live8 concerts is going a long way towards earning my forgivness. And now they're showing all of these starving children and I'm bawling like a baby, full of guilt for hating my job, for having everything I have and not doing more to rectify the huge differences in the way our world populations are living. I'm appalled that we do so little, that we put demands on other countries in order to give them aid. How can we justify our actions? How can we not do everything we can?

Okay, crush on Bob Geldof has just gone off the charts. And now I'm gonna start bawling again because Madonna is singing Like A Prayer. It's the combination of nostalgia and genuine pathos. Dude. I think... This sounds ridiculous, but it's proof that art can change the world. The power behind it, the people behind, the way it transforms and transcends the things that make us different.

Wow I sound sappy. Shrugs. There are worse things to be than a little sappy. It's a great mix of artists as well, but dude, MTV is so afraid of getting slammed by the FCC that they're bleeping out all of the "Fucks" and well, as I said to [livejournal.com profile] denyeverything1, I thought my TV was on the fritz when Snoop Dogg was on because I can't understand what he's saying anyway.

More Live8

Good Charlotte, Audioslave and now Mariah Carey?

Bob, my crush is rapidly dwindling!!

Dude!

ETA: OMG, why did no one tell me that Robbie Williams was that hot? Bob, my liberal commie pinko crush has returned, but I do believe that Robbie Williams just got dibs on my lust!

ETA2: Yeah!! The Who just completely rocked the house and made up for the previous hour! And [livejournal.com profile] denyeverything1, apparently I have not missed Pink Floyd because they are now on my giant TV singing "Breathe" and I'm getting all weepy again:)

I fixed the icon. It still suffers from bad capping, but it's better and it's yours if you want it:) We've gotta learn to cap, but whoa is me for that sounds like a helluva pain in the ass.
