Is it wrong that I have a teeny, tiny crush on Bob Geldof? Yeah, I thought so.
But the fact that MTV and VH1 are trying to make up for their travesty of coverage last weekend to show 5 uninterrupted hours of the Live8 concerts is going a long way towards earning my forgivness. And now they're showing all of these starving children and I'm bawling like a baby, full of guilt for hating my job, for having everything I have and not doing more to rectify the huge differences in the way our world populations are living. I'm appalled that we do so little, that we put demands on other countries in order to give them aid. How can we justify our actions? How can we not do everything we can?
Okay, crush on Bob Geldof has just gone off the charts. And now I'm gonna start bawling again because Madonna is singing Like A Prayer. It's the combination of nostalgia and genuine pathos. Dude. I think... This sounds ridiculous, but it's proof that art can change the world. The power behind it, the people behind, the way it transforms and transcends the things that make us different.
Wow I sound sappy. Shrugs. There are worse things to be than a little sappy. It's a great mix of artists as well, but dude, MTV is so afraid of getting slammed by the FCC that they're bleeping out all of the "Fucks" and well, as I said to
denyeverything1, I thought my TV was on the fritz when Snoop Dogg was on because I can't understand what he's saying anyway.
