My mother just called me at work to tell me that she'd watched Battlestar Gallactica. She thought that Starbuck being a girl was pretty cool.

She made me giggle though, reminding me of how much I loved it as a little girl, and how much my father hated it:) But I had one of the fighters, and I had the record, so he must have indulged me. She even remembered that he called it Battlestar Godawfulaca, which cracked me up, because she tended to tune out a lot of my four year old's battles with my dads. We had similar battles over the Dukes of Hazzard. My mother didn't remember that I had the record, though. I'm imagining she tuned it out. I liked to listen to my records ad naseum. It's a wonder she ever watched Star Wars with me because I killed that record.

Mostly, from BG, I remember the cylons, and wasn't there a kid with a robot dog? I loved Starbuck. That seems to be universal.

I didn't get a chance to see the miniseries. But this is Scifi. Odds are, they'll show it again.

They're replaying it on Sunday, from beginning to end so you can catch it all at once.

It wasn't jaw-dropping wonderful, but it wasn't spit-it-out horrible, either. I enjoyed it, would probably check it out if they do turn it into a series again (but then, I don't remember anything from the original). Actually, one of the neatest things about it was the music...or the lack thereof. Except for one or two points that I can remember, the only "music" was percussion and that was used sparingly. Like I said, neat.

I caught some moments of it, and it didn't look as clunky as I expected it to. (And I'm a big old sucker for Edward James Olmos). Fortunately, I remember almost nothing of the original except for the characters names, the cylons, the uniforms and the fighter, because mine had a button to fire the pulse and it looked like a tongue sticking out:)

But thanks for the heads up. I can at least tape it for later.

The kid was Boxey and his robot dog(or dagget) was Muffet. It was cheesy as all hell, and I loved that dog.

Dude, knew I wasn't crazy. And will you believe that I did remember the dogs name (and had, I belive, a plastic figure of it that moved? He went right next to the Princess Leia in Cloud Planet garb:) I know I'm right on the Princess Leia, hope I'm not makin' up the dog.

Man, I had the Star Wars, Superman, Battlestar Galactica and Grease soundtracks and played them ad nauseum. I'm amazed I didn't get kicked out of the house. ;)
