I have a GIGANTIC pile of stuff on my desk that needs to be addressed. Watch me address it. Go me, with the not addressing it.

However, as it signals the official end of nipple patrol, I really should address it.

I am... at the stage in the year where my jobs and activities have caught up with me and I simply want to hide from them. They always find me though. I'm overworked and overscheduled and don't quite know how to dig myself out of that pit, aside from making lists of things I'd like to do that I probably won't do, and some that I will.

These include, but are not limited to:

* Learning to weld so I can make gigantic pieces of metallic public art.

* Going to a Greek island to get caught up in International Intrigue. With ouzo.

* Travelling cross-country on a motorcycle to visit all of those monuments that we write about in ficcish road trips - like the big ball of string. And Arkansas.

* Learning to speak Chinese. And learning to sail. I have yet figured out if these can go together.

* Take giant black and white photographs of something in cities all over the world, and write all over them in silver pen and white marker.

So flist, random thing you'd like to do with your life, just for the hell of it. No culture benefits, no advancement, doesn't even have to be realisitc, or even real, just something nutty you'd like to do.

Today, instead of embodying the chic urban professional, I look like a 50's housewife dipped in Goth. It kind of pleases me, enough so that I'm wearing my birthday heels because I wanted to feel like a pretty girl and not just like I'm playing dress up. Yes, we're at that time of year where I desperately need to feel like a pretty girl, which makes me sound like an idiot, but is a need nonetheless.

I am NOT at all caught up, nor do I have any plans for catching up soon, on the TV premieres. It'll happen when our TV no longer gives us epilepsy (which may happen soonerish rather than laterish as M. has finally decided that borrowing another man's television will not reflect poorly on his own manliness, which you know, would have been fantastic a week ago when we could have collected the TV, but now, mostly does us no good as the TV's owner will soon be out of town. Boys. Are. A. Mystery.)

However, I did watch the Season Finale of Burn Notice. Which rocked. And USA, you can bite me. June?!?!? Fucking JUNE!!!!

I'm a poor swimmer, but I'd like to learn to dive. And also maybe surf. It just looks so cool.

And ride my bike across Europe, and hike the Pyrenees. Kayak the Alaskan panhandle.

hiking in the Pyrenees is Very. Cool. The Pont D'Espagne area is just So. Gorgeous. Plus, they make awfully cool dogs in the Pyrenees (see icon ;)

Diving would be excellent. Skin diving or scuba or diving off cliffs?

And dude, surfing, I so want to surf. And I am so petrified of sharks I'm not sure I could make myself stay out there.

You should come to San Diego next summer and we'll go to girls Surf Camp!

SCUBA, yeah.

Surf camp! Man, that'd be awesome. Except I'm a crap swimmer...

Mmmmm, SCUBA. I have never scubaed, only snorkled. A friend of mine, also a poor swimmer, got SCUBA certified with very little problem.

Wow, that's just wild. I suspect it's oversold a bit (if I had the access, I'd go to [livejournal.com profile] serenada's Krav center for martial arts training), but what an interesting program!

But who's got that kind of time? Still, they do say it's designed to work with your pre-existing physical conditioning, so I'm assuming anyone would get something out of it.

I don't know if you're interested, but there's a growing set of programs up in the Bay Area called fitness Boot Camps, where you meet 3-5 times/week for a workout with a lot of variety, mostly outdoors, and they're supposed to really kickstart your conditioning. I keep thinking I should do something like that...

Krav was a phenomenal workout - physically and emotionally. I wish I'd been closer to the center though. It was too easy to quit when I no longer had time available.

OMG the Burn Notice finale. Proscription and I were FLAILING.

BTW: this is the time for us to write good fic and then become BNFs in this fandom, since it's barely existent.

And I need an icon with a yogurt joke.

I desperately want to know the inside scoop on the yogurt, since I think it's sort of hilarious.

And dude, it totally rocked!! Plus, when he drove up into the truck, I was totally screaming "No, no, they're going to make you Knight Rider!!!"

We bust out laughing every time the yogurt gets screentime.

My dad called me to tell me he was going to the Island and would become Number 6. But that's an even geekier reference.

Dude. Sounds like so. much. fun.

I want to learn Spanish, French, Japanese and Chinese. I'm also hoping to pick up one of the languages they speak in the Philippines (I don't think it's Tagalog on the island that I'd be on). And then I'd love to take Latin, Greek and am taking Hebrew.

I'd like to travel, both in the States and to other countries.

Most of my current desires are totally practical, though.

I want to go be a student of some kind in London for
six months.
I want to relearn the the Spanish I knew as a child.
I want to walk the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
And maybe hike Mt Fiji.

I would like to dance under the full moon in a women's circle, barefoot.
I want to live by the sea for more than a week.
I want to learn how to take care of my plants so that they grow happy.
I think, once more in my life, I'd like to wear my crazy, curly hair really long.
I would like to be bold enough to try anything I really want!
