I turned on the radio this morning, on my way to work - 7 minutes late as usual, but hey I'm consistent - and Werewolves of London was playing on KCRW. Hadn't heard the news, but I knew it meant Warren Zevon had died. He lived through the release of his final album and got to die on his own terms, both in his personal life - if such a thing is possible, but also in his professional life which is remarkable. He will definitely be missed. So find something of his if you've got him on CD, or download it from Kazaa and crank it up. He'd have loved the noise.

Weekend was good - too much wine collectively, but ballet started again and I feel like I've got my brain back. I think my little girl dream just won't die. I've known since I was 8 that I couldn't be a professional ballerina. Too tall and too big, and even to be a show girl, dance on Broadway, too tall, not willing to starve. Sigh. But those three hours of ballet a week, they ground me, focus me, make me concentrate on something that will never come easily to me and then I can slip, slide into rehearsal, fight with my girls, whine that I'm being picked on, giggle and dance and push myself knowing that I've disciplined my brain and body in order to be where I am.

Giggling like a fiend on Friday night, sitting on the couch bitching about guys, and C. requests to see the scene from Meltdown when Crichton gets his ass slapped. What can I say, we both had a long week. I was happy to comply, and then, so she'd know that I actually do watch Farscape for the storyline as well, watched LGM 1. I sent her home with tapes for Season 1 - labeled according to what she needed to watch to figure out what was going on. C. is happy to watch Friends and Law and Order 'til her eyes fall out, so I don't know if the brain washing will take, but it was worth a shot.

[livejournal.com profile] searose is contemplating the writing still in front of here, and [livejournal.com profile] kixxa just posted her Rygelicious epic. There are stories in the works all around, and I'm excited about all of them, and I'm feeling snippy because I wanted the third installment of Robyn Bender's Talyn series for my smut fix, and those pesky real lives/computers seem to be interfering, so I decided to mindlessly count up how many words and pages of Blue Eyes I've written (I didn't personally count them - it's one of my favorite features on the newest versions of MS word, word and page count as you go):

Words: 60,434

Pages: (10 pt. font, Times, space and a half) - 112.

Hmm. Thought it would have been more.

Also, someone told that amok was a Portuguese word. Anyone know if this is true?
