Huge thanks
Apr. 2nd, 2004 11:34 amI much appreciate all of the support and the putting up with my whining about my writerly inadequacies. I also appreciate that no one threatened to whack me upside the head for whining instead of working:)
Incidently, I figured out how to make WMP work. I clicked on the volume button (which was playing, but was red. Apparently, it must be black to have, you know, sound). I feel foolish, but hey, now I can see and hear vids:)
It's just been a really long week. Our phone got disconnected, which is M.'s fault, and we have no hot water, which isn't his fault. And we now, or at least later today will, have a phone again. The people at SBC do not make it easy to pay the bill if your name is not on the account, however. And you have to give them a deposit. But for what? I own a phone. It's literally my phone, so what am I getting for my deposit, aside from the ability to use the phone? Guess I answered my own question, huh? But goodbye new CD's, pink Converse, Farscape DVD and new costume. Hello phone service.
But we had cable. No phone. But cable. And I was missing my house. Again, wondering what I was missing.
Got
suelac's beta for Blue Eyes, and it just made my day. Yesterday was just sort of overwhelming, and I got home, found the envelope which said Beta by Pony Express on it, opened it up and was just so unbelievably pleased, and proud, and grateful to Cofax for all of her work on my behalf.
I'm incredibly grateful to all of my betas, so huge hugs and kisses and beer and nachos and cabana boys for all of you.

Date: 2004-04-02 11:43 am (UTC)And yes, basic tasks. He had to pay off a credit card, so didn't pay the phone bill and didn't tell me he wasn't paying the pone bill. I found out because a friend tried to call and was mightily confused. I think he thought I wouldn't find out.

Date: 2004-04-02 11:47 am (UTC)Glad you got it. Let me know if you have any trouble reading my writing, although since I didn't keep a copy (doh!) I may not be able to help with translation difficulties. *g*
And now that you have solved the mysteries of WMP, see if you can get IM working, yeah? That way you can ping me if you have any questions on anything I said.
I may not have said this explicitly, but the beta is almost all fixes and not a lot of strokes. Because it's a long story and I'm lazy. That doesn't mean it's not a great story anyway, it is. You did a fabulous job and you should be proud.

Date: 2004-04-02 12:13 pm (UTC)And I'm working on the IM thing (now that I've got the phone reconnected, I'm gonna look at the other options for IM:)
Housemate does not get cookies, and he drank all of my sake!! I'm tempted to not tell him we have phone service again:)
