I am stil exhausted, and we still have no food. The grocery workers' union moved the Ralph's employees to Vons and Albertsons so that people could shop at Ralph's without having to cross the picket line. I appreciate this, but still don't want to support them because the corporation locked out the worker's to show solidarity to the other chain stores and I think it's wrong. These are workers who are striking for a legitimate reason and that aura of corporate bullying infuriates me. But, I really, really need groceries. And Ralph's is the only 24 hour grocery store near me. Sigh.

Watched the two part Season 3 opener of The West Wing (because my VCR and I wage a constant battle between the real time and the amazing losing time internal clock I don't often get the title at the beginning). I liked it, but it kind of bounced between holding my interest and annoying me. What I did discover, that fascintated me, was the sense of CJ being stuck in that old boys club. I mean, they're all liberal democrats, pro-social causes, pro-equality, because she definitely suffers for being a girl, I think. I need to re-examine this.

Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] cretkid, I got the edited version of the crossover:) And [livejournal.com profile] crankygrrl was bored so I encouraged her to come play with us:) Bartlet talks about wanting to be an astronaut at the end of the Season 3 premiere. That's so going in to the fic:)

[livejournal.com profile] cretkid put out a call and I'm reiterating it. It's been a boatload of years since I've been to the Air and Space Museum. Anyone been recently who can offer some practical advice, or memories of where things are located?

I don't have to work on Monday or Tuesday. I have serious plans for locking myself in the house and watching my Season 3 DVD"s all day. It is a good plan, a nice plan, and I'm gonna do everything in my power to make it happen:)

And on a final note, I haven't purchased tickets for Burbank yet because I'm still ultra baffled - and quite frankly intimidated by the whole think. I know that I most definitely want to sit in the bar, drink dry martinis and meet all of y'all who are coming. I also know I want to see the panel on fic on Sunday. However, except for some of the big events, I can't find schedules that list what time things are. This seems silly, but I have to schedule around things, as well as rearrange or cancel students, classes, etc, so I need to know when I should show up:) And, really, the whole con things is making me feel mightily overwhelmed. So much so, that I might just have to say, I'll be the really tall pasty girl with the red boots sitting in the bar, begging olives from the bartenders. Help!

P.S. to [livejournal.com profile] whitelight1. I'm still so in love with the Futurama mood set. And sometimes choose my mood just to see what it will come up with:)

Oh, [livejournal.com profile] double_helix made a lovely new icon site of her work, and [livejournal.com profile] themoonbar has made a set of absolutely gorgeous Season 3 icons. All of you 50 iconers should go check it out (while I contemplate paying for 50 icon spaces).

Ralph's

Although there may be something to the store's argument that the union is trying to sow dissension in the corporate ranks by letting one store profit at the expense of the other two. This appeals to my sneaky, pro-union heart.

I would support this more if I wasn't so upset with Ralph's for locking out there workers (because I am virulently pro-union, in most cases, but without question in this case:) I honestly hope dissension is being sown.

And hey, have a safe trip!!

It only works if you spend your money at Ralph's, though.

And hey, have a safe trip!!

Thanks!

It's true. I suppose that should be incentive to spend money on Ralph's, but until they actually let their workers back in, the corporate bigwigs will get my hard earned cash, and I'm just all sorts of stuck:)

P.S. to whitelight1. I'm still so in love with the Futurama mood set. And sometimes choose my mood just to see what it will come up with:)

Oh, you're welcome. I did notice something the other day. For some reason, the mood "predatory" didn't load. I have it uploaded now and the new URL is http://members.fortunecity.com/whitelight1/predatory.jpg.

You can add it on to the mood theme set by using the instructions I sent you the previous time.

It would be moodtheme_setpic (your five digit mood theme code) (the mood id) (the URL) 100 60. That should get the predatory mood picture up.

Thank you!!

And I love that icon. Kerne's clearly trying to prevent me from ever getting anything done.

Oh, I adore the icon and just about fell off my sofa when Kerne put them up. He's just so...well he's got some nice assets that's for damn sure.

Yep, terrific assests:) One of my dear male friends, upon being forced to watch Farscape with me, turned to me with a sigh and said, " That's it. Leather pants and swagger. Clearly that's what I'm not doing."

That shot and the APM leathers are really, really, reaaaalllly nice. I love the length of leg, and you can see the muscle all the way to his knee in those jeans!
Some people really go for hands or chests or what-have-you, my favorite part is the thigh. Weird but true.

I'm pretty partial to the whole thing, but oh yeah, the APM leathers, with the short jacket. And watch me cease to be useful for the rest of the day:)

Who wants to be useful when you can be admiring John Crichton's tightly-clad form?

It's true. And I have a DVD player at work, I could, technically, admire said form in all it's glory if I wanted to guarantee that I could do so from a state of unemployment from there on out:)

And if you're going to any of the evening stuff, that usually kicks off around 9pm. BTW, the bartenders are very cool ... I'm sure they'll give you plenty of olives. :-)

I'm all about the extras in my drinks - extra olives, extra limes, extra cherries - though I rarely drink things with cherries. But I tip well and I smile nicely, so I'm sure they'll hook me up:)

Thea, I live in Washington, D.C. and my mother-in-law is a docent at the Smithsonian. So, if you want, I'll send you info on what's going on. I do know that there is a terrific new permanent exhibit on Kitty Hawk and the Wright Brothers where they have brought the plane down off the ceiling and refurbished it and you can now walk around it and see its details. Also, there is a great IMAX theater and plantarium and a very good redeisgned large display about new research on the solar system.

You can also to on the internet to www.si.edu and there is the current schedule posted there.

Hope that helps.
