If I keep the rental car and just don't go pick up the Saturn? The rental's an automatic, which makes it lose points, but it doesn't need a new radiator or a new water pump and is currently in my possession which makes it very attractive. But I guess they'd probably notice, and lawyer's fees would probably run me a lot more than $900. But this officially means I'm not going to Morrocco, unless the Lottery Gods shine on me or I get off my ass and start freelancing. Because, hell, who needs hobbies when you can work 12 hours a day. Sigh. Why yes, I'm feeling sorry for myself. How could you tell.

On a positive note, [livejournal.com profile] whitelight1 set me up with the Futurama mood theme and I installed it correctly and love it muchly. Thank you dear.

And thanks to everyone who sent me challenge suggestions. I'm definitely going to answer them, and even running them through my brain jump started the next chapter of Blue Eyes, which is all for the good, and of course, this means that I've got a ton of stuff to do at work and don't have time to write. And for the record, lawyers should never be allowed to edit text. Ever. Ever, ever.

Good luck to [livejournal.com profile] apathocles on her thesis. I had insomnia while I wrote mine and stayed up all night baking when I couldn't right. The chocolate pound cake was a hit, the Armenian crackers not so much. Let's just say that baking involves a level of precision that I don't normally bring into the kitchen with me. I consider cooking an improv art form. Recipes are for wusses:) That attitude doesn't work so well with baking:)

I've got nothing fannish to say, except for more expressions of Leo love, and Ainsley. She's blond, she's Republican, and I just really like her. She's such a creation - even more idealized than Sorkin's Democrats, but she's such a nice foil.

I miss Ainsley! I loved that character!

She really is a great character - smart and loyal and true to her beliefs. And apparently with a humingbird's metabolism:)

*hugs Thea* Cuz I understand the car thing. Things that must get done on my little car of dren. 1) oil change, 2)get blinkers fixed, 3)new muffler, 4)full pre-winter overhaul. I can do #1&2 but #3&4 so need to wait. My thought is it's easier to take a bus than find a new place to live. *bg*

That's right, cooking is alchemy, but baking is a science. I've found that there are certain things I do know how to bake and bake well, others...let's say you could use them when building a stone house. *g*

The Armenian crackers, definitely in the better used as building implements category:) And the biscuits I make at my grandmothers memorial service - although they tasted good and were flaky. But I forgot about the altitude thing - I adjusted for it, but forgot they still weren't gonna rise much.

The car thing - it just bites. It's inevitable, but it sucks. So thanks very much, and at least i no longer have to do the seasonal overhaul dance or worry about rust and salt corrosion.

*sigh* yes, i do miss her. And she could really whup Sam's butt. Which was good. In fact, maybe Rob Lowe needs her on the Lyon's Den. Would amp up the smart dialogue and dial down the melodrama. All of which would be good.

i also miss Amy! Thea, she is from last season, played by Mary Louise Parker. She is a COOL feminist character. I hope she comes back this season. Maybe she will, she WAS hired to do PR for the First Lady. . .

I liked Amy in some of the eps I've seen, but depending on the role and my mindset, Mary Louise Parker can bug the crap out of me. I also really didn't care about her relationship with Josh. I'm finding that, excpect for CJ an Danny, I'm not real interested in who sleeps with who. Except for Sam and Josh who are clearly sleeping with each other:)

Hey, Thea, you are going to come visit when we're in Burbank, yes?

Or if not, I should make plans to get together with you on Saturday or Sunday, as I'm not doing the con thing, just the hanging-out-and-drinking-too-much-in-the-bar thing.

Absolutely going to come visit!! I've got mixed feelings about the con itself, but I so want to meet everyone!! And I love drinking in hotel bars:) Smirk. We can get a head start on that:)

>>Do you think they'll notice...If I keep the rental car and just don't go pick up the Saturn?>>

You know I've been having nearly the same conversation with myself. My car has been in the body shop the last couple days for some cosmetic surgey to repair the damage done in the rear-ending and I've been driving a fire-engine red Ford Focus. The minuses to this: It's fire-engine red. And it's front wheel drive. I'm not used to front-wheel drive and the brakes feel very squirrely to me. The pluses: It has a working air conditioner and a tape player. No channel surfing in search of tunes. And did I mention the air conditioning?

My Saturn is the first car I've owned with air conditioning. I don't even like air conditioning and when I first got it I wanted to use it all the time.

Thanks! And mmm, chocolate cake sounds nice. I generally use recipes for desserts and whatnot, but throw most meals together (when I decide to do something more than cheese on toast, or baked potatoes). Haven't died yet. *g*
