Alright ladies, tickets are purchased!! (Plus, my wishy washy ways scored me cheaper tickets).Whoo Hoo! Thursday night arrival, Sunday night departure. Spirit Airlines. Let's hope that's not a front for something dire. (I'm gonna be gone during a moderately difficult time to be gone at work, so I may actually need to work while I'm there.)

Still no sign of the kitty. I hope he's out drinking and carousing and picking up chicks. I'll start crying again if I think otherwise. I made signs though, and put them up.

Runnin' low on feet topics. What would any of you want to discuss about summer or summer footwear?

All y'all have fun at ComicCon. Personally, the idea of that many people running around a crowded, enclosed area makes me break out in a cold sweat. But, well, that's me.

This week's Entourage filled me with Ari/Lloyd love. So much love. Seriously, why is this show not just about Ari and Lloyd?

New Burn Notice tonight! Last week's ep was fab, and I'm hoping the trend continues.

I STILL have not read Harry Potter. And now RL is starting to question me about it. Sigh. I see it in my future I suppose.

As far as summer footwear goes, I am in love with the Teva sandals I recently bought. I can't believe I just paid fifty bucks for a pair of sandals, but they are completely worth it! Black, with grey and blue poppies embroidered on the straps, so cute.

And crowds don't appeal to me either. They're fun for about five minutes before it gets old.

I've never been a TEVA person (nor have I ever been a Birkenstock person), but they are both getting cuter and cuter every year.

I would like to hear your thoughts on summer, work appropriate (=closed-toe) shoes.

I'm serious. Laboratory work necessitates closed toed shoes, but I'm in CALIFORNIA, for the sake of pete! Need light, breathable shoes.

Hmmm. Since I moved to So Cal 10 years ago, I have neither worn panty hose, nor worried about closed toed shoes.

However, if you're in the lab, and don't have to wear heels, I'd recommend some of the super-cute, kicky not exactly tennis shoes by Sketchers or Rocket Dog or Diesel or Michelle K. (Keds, amazingly enough, is also making some super cute would totally go with skirts shoes this season). Also, if you can afford to shell out some cash, Camper makes adorable shoes that are comfy, quirky, work appropriate, funky and light. They are pricey though. (Clarks and Dansko are heavier, but they also make shoes that will reliably not make your back feel like death.)

This is also the era of the cute ballet flat, which I'm guessing you can find for ultra cheap. Chinese Laundry also has some great cute flats, but sometimes, they feel TERRIBLE on your feet.

I currently vacillate (Jesus, how do you spell that?) between black ballet flats (Naturalizer with cutouts and Josef Siebel clogs? Mules? Probably clogs, but they're lighter than your standard Dansko, with a sage green color and cute tan toe.

Will look into Camper, but I usually find those not-exactly-tennis-shoes feel like a twisted ankle waiting to happen. Why can't they put a sturdy, standable sole on those shoes? Why why why?

And, since I'm relatively tall, I rarely feel the need to wear heels, but sometimes rock a 1-1.5 inch height as long as it's sturdy enough to handle standing on All Day.

And Jamie Lee Curtis once said that any day she doesn't have to wear panty hose is a good day. Life is good.

Clarks might be what you're looking for - their Indigo line is very cute, and they're less hard core than Danksos. Although Dansko is coming out with some very cute, WAY less bulky shoes.

I'm going to the Fourth (or Fifth) Annual International Hussy Weekend in the upper midwest:) (Five of us get together once a year and gossip and write and adore one and other and bicker and drink a lot:)

YAY! (And here's another icon for you!)

I received this comment from you as I was (am?) drafting a post in which I refer to you as "a very wise woman." And every very wise woman needs a hussy weekend in her life every so often.

Next thing I know you're going to once again deny that you share with Claudia Black the struggle of making it in the world while carrying the burden of great beauty.

We all play a character of our own making whilst online, through what we show and what we choose to not show. And we all choose what we want to see of others' characters. But I'm getting the distinct impression from my half-decade plus of knowing people online that we see the truth about people more clearly here than in person.

Okay, now that I've gotten off the floor where I fell in a fit of laughter... I'm at best... charmingly cute.

I think i'm probably not that different in RL. More neurotic, less able to express what I mean.
