It is AMAZING what happens when one finally gets enough sleep. Amazing I tell you. How come no one told me that?
I'm liberating things all over the internets and my flist that y'all have already seen, but they're filling me with glee.

dafnap, via Joseph Mallozzi's blog, we learn that Ben Browder watches Friday Night Lights. I don't even watch this show (YET. I attempted to watch off NBC, but my connection is too inefficient and I'm just waiting for the DVDs because once I gave into all of your squee, I sort of got hooked and then frustrated at my technology). However, the idea of that pretty, pretty southern boy watching this show about other pretty southern boys (and girls) makes me swoony in ways I can't explain. (Partly, I think because him watching them immediately translates in my brain to him appearing on FNL and the idea of Ben Browder continually running around in Levis with a clipboard on my TV also makes me a little dazed and giddy. I cannot be the only person with thinks this? Right?)

rubberneck, Fandom doesn't ask what it can do for you, baby, it helps you figure out what you can do for love.
I don't think there's anything left to say. Do you?
Unless you want to tell me what you've done for fandom out of love.
I also love, irrationally, and thorougly:
*The Geico Gecko
*My Sheep Converse
*Earl and Randy Hickey, but mostly Earl
*Ari Gold
*M., particularly when he's making me laugh and trying to turn the cats into well-behaved soldiers of the new fascist regime
*The Moxi (even if it did erase Bad Guys before I had time to watch it on Hal.)
*The BBC
*The Big Gay Flamingoes
*The baby great white shark that used to live at the Monterey Bay Aquarium and kept eating the other sharks and finally went free to be a shark in the world
*My red rolley Ottomans
*Grapefruit
*Gladiolas
*My flist
In other news, did anyone else watch Jon Stewart last night and see that INCREDIBLY HOT pilot for the Air Force Thunderbirds? I... I've spent a fair amount of time around Air Force people by proximity, and NONE of them ever looked like that. He may be the prettiest non-acting individual I've ever seen on my TV. Plus, jet pilot (which even I am not immune to the charms of the jet pilot, despite the EWWW Military response I normally cannot control). Even Jon Stewart remarked on it, saying, "I think I could get laid just from having been in the same room with that guy.
Thanks to the wonders of corporate America, tomorrow is a half day!! Whoo Hoo!
Finally, a meme:
Comment with two characters I write, and I'll tell you about their first ______.
Doesn't have to be two characters I normally write, but it has to be two characters and an action I can IDENTIFY!
ETA: How could I have forgotten!!! Happy Birthday to Mr. Zimmerman. It is melodramatic to say, but more than once, you've saved my soul. May you be around for years to come.

Date: 2007-05-24 05:54 pm (UTC)I am sure there will be FNL dvds out sometime this summer, not sure when.
Two characters, huh? Hmm. I forget if you're a Vorkosigan fan or not. If so, Ivan Vorpatril, Aeryn Sun, shooting. If not, D'Argo, Randy, shopping.

Date: 2007-05-24 05:58 pm (UTC)I would be wholly incapable of controlling my squee over that. Sigh. I very rarely feel giddy over an ACTOR, but well, yeah.
And hee. Excellent prompts!

I might have been thinking about this instead of writing my paper. This is a distinct possibility.
As for two characters....Vala/Crichton?

Date: 2007-05-24 06:16 pm (UTC)Then he could get into hot staring matches with Kyle Chandler and they could, I don't know, have a Who Has Prettier Eyelashes-off to win the girl.
Oh god, I think I might need some alone time now!
And hee. Vala/Crichton for the win.

Date: 2007-05-24 08:40 pm (UTC)Oh, and I absolutely adore the little Geico Gecko. It's the accent. I'm a sucker for it.

Date: 2007-05-24 07:17 pm (UTC)The above concept makes me swoon as well. And I don't even know if we GET FNL over here. Or even what it is about.
You know, there was segment on the news this morning about the "cult of celebrity", which described how "we" go madcrazy for celebs, and go and buy and sell stuff they have touched, or even just stood near, on ebay. I was all, "Me? Nah!" Then I remembered Ben Browder and realised that the boy may qualify as a "cult" all on his ownsome. (Maybe I've been brain washed? Think the blue eyes could be a brain washing tool?)
In other news, your report of an INCREDIBLY HOT pilot who is not an actor nudged me to go and google the name jon stewart (I was all, who he?) and ended up watching the interview on the website. Sometimes with the sound down. Pretty :)
Jon Stewart, if you need someone to go fly with those guys I will! Also, snerk..INCREDIBLY HOT jet pilot's handle/call sign/what you will is "Hollywood". That's bonus points right there.

Soooo, if you don't fancy Vala and Aeryn shooting, how about Vala and Aeryn...negociating? (With each other, or with others, it matters not).

Date: 2007-05-24 11:14 pm (UTC)What I do remember ('cos yeah, the bunny suit was just a little bit DISTRACTING thankyouverymuch) is that he said FNL was the best show on television and that we should all be watching it too. :D And then there was a little segue into coaching or helping coach his son's team, and then *I* got distracted by thinking about football uniforms and pads and his hands on a football and...
Umm. Yeah. :D
