Hussy Weekend Nears the End
May. 28th, 2006 07:55 pmI have learned that Nightwing is Robin when he forgets the safety word. (Thanks to Mr. Feldman).
That is not the least thing that has made me laugh hysterically. My sides and my ribs hurt so badly I can't breathe.
We've introduced
crankygrrl to white trash suburbia (i.e. - the cultural reality of most of the rest of our childhoods). We made her watch Beavis and Butthead (bypassing both the White Castle and the Funions, which were both discussed as she's never had either) after we went to see X:3. Expect many annoucements of "My name is Cornholio..." wafting down from the frozen tundra, but for the record, she purchased and drank the Coors Light all on her own.
We've thrown a baby shower, drank tequila, tie-dyed baby covers, discussed storylines and plot - both our own and other people's, hennaed the knocked up belly, eaten fabulous grilled vegetables, Mongolian Barbeque, and fabulous fudge made by
fbf.
We had a great time at X:3. I honestly couldn't tell you whether or not it was a good movie or not, but I enjoyed it thoroughly, probably because we started giggling during the previews and pretty much never stopped. Upon seeing Storm for the first time, Feldman announced, "Dude, she does have Chiana's hair." That was the beginning of the end.
I hate that I have to go home tomorrow. There's something incredibly freeing about being around people you've met as a fully formed adult who accept you completely, who laugh at you and love you and just genuinely like you. I adore these women with all their gifts and dichotomies, their pasts and futures, and their moments, and especially our moments together.
And now, appropriately, we're watching Notorious to finish up the evening.

Date: 2006-05-30 09:03 pm (UTC)B&B give me dreadful flashbacks to my 10-years-ago-now job at Cineplex, with the 16-year-old co-worker who would. not. stop. quoting them. *stabbity* Although as it gave me the impetus to go back and finish my degree, I guess I should thank them. ;)
