Stolen from all over - but initially[livejournal.com profile] vonnielake and [livejournal.com profile] infinitemonkeys

1. If you had to choose an alias, what would it be?
Nora Dunn. But she's an actual person. My real name sounds like an alias. My parents, bless their little disagreeing hearts did not do me much of a service in the name department.

2. Where were you on 9/11?
In bed, to be woken by my boss calling to tell me that I didn't have to come to work. I promptly flew downtown to collect my mother who was staying at one of the big hotels in LA. She stayed with me for three more days, rearranged my furniture and turned all of my towels pink. We sent her home in a rental car.

3. What is your ideal vacation?
Books, sun, museums, accents and good wine, ooh and pretty men.

4. How many first cousins do you have?
Six, oops five. One of my first cousins got shot by his wife last year.

5. How do you take your pizza?
Cheese, goat cheese, kalamata olives, and capers. Or just regular mushroom and olive.

6. If you could be fluent in any foreign language (that you are not already) what would it be?
Spanish, or Russian. It just sounds cool and if I learned Greek I think I could learn Russian.

7. What is your favorite website?
Hmmm. Depends on the day.

8. If you could experience another era of history, which would it be?
1920's - jazz and gin and short hair and gorgeous cars. (We'll just ignore for the moment, money grubbing and sexism and racial segregation)

9. What is your favorite genre of movies?
Classic hollywood romantic comedies or Alfred Hitchcock. I'm a sucker for good sci-fi or action, though.

10. If you could have any one superpower, what would it be?
Teleportation, or telekinesis.

11. Can you whistle?
Yeah.

12. If you could be any animal for a day, what would it be?
My housecat George- no responsibility, a play mate, insatiable curiousity, rubber bones, being totally thrilled about things like the catnip trout and birdy on a stick. But it sucks to be inside all day I guess.

13. Who is your favorite fictional character?
Peter Lake from A Winter's Tale, or John Smythe from Elizabeth Peters' Vicky Bliss novels.

14. Star Wars or Star Trek?
Star Wars, no question(we are talking original Star Wars here, right), although I have seen a lot of Star Trek

15. What is your favorite beverage?
Good Amarone - a super yummy Italian wine. Also San Pelligrino Limonata.

16. What brand of toothpaste do you use?
Arm and Hammer whitening with baking soda.

17. What is your favorite professional sports team?
New York Yankees. No question, although I do love them Cubbies, I will always be a Yankee's girl.

18. Are you "indoorsy" or "outdoorsy"?
Indoorsy. I like the outdoors, but don't ask me to sleep in it.

19. What is your earliest childhood memory?
I'm not sure which is earliest - either pulling our cat's tail and the consequences of that, or the yellow dress my mother bought me that I refused to take off for a week. Seriously, she bought it before we went to visit relatives in Tucson and I would scream when she'd try to take it off. Every picture we have of that vacation includes me in that dress. She wanted to burn it by the time the week was over because I even slept in it.

20. If you could play any musical instrument, what would it be?
Guitar, because I have one but am to lazy to become proficient.

21. What's your favorite accent?
Scottish, baby. I have no will power.

22. When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Archaeologist, marine biologist,a professional ballerina, a professional baseball player, a writer, a musuem curator, a private detective, President of the United States, a spy, an Olympic swimmer, a Rockette, a pioneer, an astronaut - Generally it was several of these things at once.

23. Are you a dog person or a cat person?
Both - we have cats because we're never home and have no yard, but I love them both equally.

24. If they were making a movie or TV show of your life, who would you choose to play you?

Mmm - I'd love to say Nicole Kidman, but she's far too pretty. Katherine Hepburn (in her youth) far too thin and elegant, Greer Garson is too English (and dead), probably Julianne Moore for sheer physical type, although that's mostly wish fullfillment.

25. What is your favorite element (earth, fire, water or air)?
Water

26. If you could compete in any event in the Olympics (summer or winter) what would it be?
Swimming

27. What is your favorite Sunday comic strip?
Get Fuzzy and Boondocks, although I still miss Calvin and Hobbes and Bloom County

28. What kind of music do you listen to?
Everything but "Lite" music, hip hop and teen pop.

29. What is your favorite breakfast cereal?
I'm not big on cereal. I like the Kashi Go Lean because it's really crunchy.

30. What is your worst habit?
Oy, there should be only one. I'm gonna have to say it's a three way tie between telling people what to do, chewing my nails and smoking, but I only chew my nails when I'm trying not to smoke - and have been cigarette free for two weeks so my hands are revolting right now.
