I'm back, and managed to not hurt or maim any family members. It was actually a really good trip, if expectedly emotional, and I'm very glad to be back.

Our internet connection is really spotty today, so I'm justing waving and saying hi.

Oh and to veritykindle, you really are the best Katya. I got the presents from ScaperCon about 15 minutes before I walked out the door on Wednesday to catch my flight and I absolutely adore them, so I'm sending you big, wet sloppy kisses. Thank you, thank you, thank you. They just changed my whole attitude about this trip and made me much more fun to be around.

And crankygrrl, you did promise me fic on my return:)

I'm off to catch up on everyone's adventures while I was away (at least until our DSL goes down again:)

Ding, dong, the router is dead

And that's the end of the story for my DSL router at work! I'm typing this from the tutoring agency and I don't teach again until Friday, so unless COVAD gets their act together, I will be internet free until Friday. It makes me feel edgy and desperate to be at my computer, unable to access the world of fic and gossip and Live Journals and e-mail, not to mention the very legitimate work and research I do online, especially after being gone for a week.

And the geniuses at SBC swear they mailed me a start up disk. They lie, but have vowed to send me another one. It's become a matter of principal at this point even though I know I'll cave and order the DSL eventually.

I guess this means I have no excuse not to work vigorously on Blue Eyes for the next two days in addition to writing about my trip for my mom.

Don't do anything too exciting while I'm gone.

Oh and just too leave you with a taste of my vacation, my father's new favorite phrase is now "That's hotter than two rats fucking in a pillow case." I don't know where it came from, but I spit a very nice cabernet across the table when I heard it.
