Winter Wonderland
Dec. 8th, 2004 12:59 pmOkay, since I know you were all waiting with bated breath, the tracklisting for the Fuck Christmas CD, or it's only Wonderful in Winterland if the Pogues can go kick Johnny Mathis' ass. (Honestly, if they hadn't been trying to rot my brain with Christmas carols, I'd be much more fun to be around:)
Thanks to everyone for the suggestions, especially
barkley who rounded this up nicely for me.
Winter - The Mekons
Christmas in Prison - John Prine
A Long December- Counting Crows
Fairytale of New York - The Pogues with Kirsty McColl
Brick- Ben Folds Five
Father Christmas - The Kinks
The Fire Thief - Hem
Christmas Morning - Lyle Lovett
Girl from the North Country - Bob Dylan
Pissing in the Wind - Badly Drawn Boy
Song for a Winter's Night - Sarah McLachlan vers.
Fanatic Heart - Black 47
Western Sky - Mark Eitzel
Don't Think Twice, It's All Right Intro/Song - Rambling Jack Elliot vers.
Today You Move - Trip Shakespeare
House Where Nobody Lives - Tom Waits
Winter Lady - Leonard Cohen
Eskimo (long vers.) - Damien Rice
These are grey skies and hot cider, melancholy and wood smoke songs.
Sleepy, but productive today.
rubberneck is making me gleeful, and I'm writing.
scrubschick wants MSR smut:) Snort. Shameless, I tell ya. Positively shamless. That's not a yes, Scrubs. I've got other things that are higher up in the line, but maybe someday I'd like to try my hand.
Have a show tonight, our Xmas show. Last year we had boas (feather ones), year before tambourines and did the Horah. Tonight, we're 60's Go-Go dancers with the turquoise hair and I want to get us some silver tinsel:)
I need a winter icon. I lust over
elishavah's and
sorlklewis's.
