Ack. Save me from myself.
Sep. 15th, 2003 01:01 pmFirst of all, Happy Birthday to
vonnielake!! Hope it's a good one and you get everything you're looking for.
I have now eaten all of the Mr. Goodbar's out of the candy dish. This means there are no more for me to eat which pleases me. The temptation is gone because I gave into it ad naseaum.
I enjoyed the
farscapefriday challenge so much that I am now tempted to write a fic based on all of Abbey Road.
fbf and I were discussing following the song cycle that starts with You Never Gave Me Your Money, but the whole damned thing would be a great fic inspiration. Maybe I should issue it as a challenge - any pairing, any fandom, although I'd prefer it to be Farscape. Follow the whole Abbey Road cycle, interpreting based on song titles or songs. I know the songs to well that the associations with the lyrics are to tied up with the title for me to use just that.
Everytime I hear Sun King I think it's going to be Don't Let Me Down.
They very rarely used the same chord progressions, but this gets me every time. And I love Here Comes the Sun, being 20 with a beautiful batiked skirt, bright blue with a huge sun on the front, daisies in my hair, barefoot even though it was too cold, illicit substances running through my bloodstream, making ink bleed into spirals and swirls as I tried to write, the texture of the grass and the carpet and the gold flecks in the ceiling. Listening to all of Abbey Road over and over again, but everytime Here Comes the Sun would come on, I'd hear the seperation of notes, harmony and melody and the bars on the treble clef. Yeah, I really loved college. And I worked and was sober and serious far more than this entry would lead one to believe.
suelac is writing XF/Spooks fic for
shrift and
nestra's challenge. Spooks fic I can kind of take or leave, depending on the author. XF/Spooks written by Cofax. I'm there, baby:)
And is anyone interested in making me an icon - that I plan to distribute actually? I don't know what visual, but I want it to say "Don't let the fic win!" Mostly for the blocked or struggling writers out there.
The new Warren Zevon album is really worth the press it got. His version of All Along the Watch Tower just catches in your throat, and Please Stay literally made me cry. This is not a man of sentiment and gooey emotions and this song is a plea to someone. And I bought a Nick Cave DVD. I love the creepy old bastard. Skinny as a rail, died black hair long and lank, smoking through the concert because it's France and he's Nick Cave and sitting down to play Into Your Arms and just breaking down the audience. It was worth every penny.

Date: 2003-09-16 04:58 am (UTC)I modified the timing on this one, and that screwed up the website address with both, so I'm reposting them.
I'm glad you like them. Icons are so much fun to do. I love finding the photo that I want, sifting through and then deciding on an order and setting up the timing until it feels just right.
If you want to pay me in fic, that's entirely welcome. That's the standard going rate, isn't it?
What a lovely morning it is here - cool and crisp, no sun yet, and my cat lying warm in my lap.
Have a good day!

Date: 2003-09-16 12:46 pm (UTC)I love the view from my building, and just the other day, the Blue Angels flew past, close and loud in a training session. Very cool to see them without having to brave the crowds at the beach for one of their airshows.
I hope your day is as beautiful where you are.
As for fic, anything you care to imagine.
