I never liked Laurie very much and I've always had a soft spot for Germans, so I am fine with Jo's choice. I was totally Jo, in that I wished more than anything that I could be Beth (except for the dying, obviously). I am usually not a fan of "girl classics", but I love this book.
I wonder if it's also Literature Day in Canada. I hope not, because I work in a very large bookstore and nothing was said...
