That's the punchline to one of my favorite priest and rabbi jokes. Seemed like an appropriate subject line.

Today... should be default be better than yesterday in which I made a slew of mistakes that had mostly to do with my job's refusal to give me all the information I need to do my job correctly the FIRST FUCKING TIME. I am not a fan of learning by fuck up. I am not a fan of being wrong. My hilarious job occasionally makes up for that, but yesterday, not one of those days. (Adding to the fact that apparently, one of the editors is tired of hearing me bitch about the half-naked girls. Dude, you guys stop treating these girls like they're objects, I'll stop complaining. In the meantime, I've spent more bloody time with them and their nipples and their innuendo - that you foisted on them - than you have, so you can kiss my decidedly NOT AIRBRUSHED ass.)

I hear there was a bunch of great or potentially great television on (LIFE being the thing I was most interested in due to my crime drama love). When I got home, however, M. was watching Dirty, Sexy, Money - he has a weird thing for pseudo-soaps which I find hilarious. He's quite fond of Las Vegas. Peter Krause is... just as annoying, although typically good, in this as everything else (I was ALWAYS in Danny's corner. Never Casey's), but the rest of it is hilariously soapy. I can't see tuning in regularly, but it definitely is high-class soap.

BTW? Loved your answers yesterday to your impractical dreams. I'm utterly charmed by y'all, you know.

And, continuing in the saga of the mystery of boys: Dude, do not tell me that a whole bunch of people got salmonella from a well-known brunch place in LA and refuse to tell me where on the grounds that a) they've fixed the problem and it was from hollandaise and hollandaise is always a risk, and b)we might eat there at some point. Because you know what? I have an OBSESSION with salmonella. A real obsession (that strangely doesn't extend to E. coli which is far more dangerous, but you can't get E. coli from turtles or ancient bed sheets or Russia). A checking the CDC website everyday for a month kind of obsession.

Which was far less annoying than the fact that upon arriving home, exhausted, pissy and unhappy and ready to wallow, I discovered that lean, mean, reveling in the vices he gave up a year ago M. (meaning that he decided that September sucked enough that he'd start smoking again) had returned to the semi-virtuous (meaning not smoking) and thus did NOT have cigarettes. While better for my lungs, it did not improve my mood.

Who wants virtue when you can have sin? (and you know, nicotine).

In conclusion, I have finally figured out TWITTER, meaning I actually looked at it for a few seconds, decided I liked the idea of life in haiku, and can now happily stalk those of you who are using it. So there.

oh, I am SOOO with you on the hating to learn via Fuck Up. It seems to be the only way the new boss knows how to train new staff, however. *sigh*

Ah, it was in the stars yesterday I think. My lovely shiny new job demonstrated how experience can mean nothing and even "old collegues" can learn through *your* fuck ups. And they are the ones that should have trained you in the first place!

Okay, I don't know where that is either, but let's not go there next week, 'cause um, yah.

I remember one of my managers once joking that the letter certifications in restaurant doors brought her to the standard of, "B? Well, I do believe, I'll "B" eating elsewhere..." ;p
for those of you just tuning in... yes. Simple humor makes me happy.

Depending on the type of place, I'm fine with a B. Not sushi, but other places:)

And yeah, no hollandaise for me for awhile.

(I realize I could Google it. But, it's the principle!!)
