Nerdgasms

So, despite all the laws of god and man, M. got an iPhone. And I have to say, it really is that cool. ( I feel like the iPhone's fairy godmother because what M. doesn't have is a computer, or an e-mail address, or the first bloody clue how any of the things not on the phone already - movies, music, etc. - get ONTO the phone). The boy wants to put movies we already have - movies he watches obsessively at the house - onto the phone. He doesn't understand iTunes.

But the phone, oh god, such phone lust. I set it up from him, made it happy and functioning and it's just... possibly the sweetest, most orgasmically cool piece of tech I've seen in our lifetime. Plus, one of the reporter's covering the launch was describing how he felt opening the box for his iPhone, and said that he was having "nerdgasms", which is now my favorite word, possibly ever.

In even more exciting news, Shoemoney Haus (the amazing collective of [livejournal.com profile] wearemany, [livejournal.com profile] fmangel and [livejournal.com profile] iamsab) sponsored a birthday party for me, which was a giddy success. It was fabulous, and people came and partied, and there were fancy mixed drinks mixed beautifully by M. (with only a few breakage issues), and music and I met a variety of lovely LJ users whom I hope to get to know better in the future, and M. (always a little baffled by his encounters with fandom) told me over breakfast, "You wouldn't believe how much some of them care about fictional people." with this sort of hushed awe in his voice and I snorted Bloody Mary out of my nose.

I may, perhaps, have not actually eaten anything after about noon on Saturday, so unfortunately, the martinis took over my brain at a certain point. It was a very quick transition between tipsy and drunk, a big old chasm of surprise, but very nice people watched out for me and got all of myself, my roommate and my stuff home in one piece.

Yesterday, I mostly recovered and test drove the Yaris. (Thumbs down on the Yaris being the car for me. Waaaay to small for my person. It's like driving one of those cars for kids where you're four times bigger than the car.)

I also watched Burn Notice, and I think I've found my summer fling. It's spies and cool gadgets and Bruce Campbell and Sharon Gless and Jeffrey Donovan - OMG Jeffrey Donovan in your ice cream suits and your levis and your crazy eyes and your very firm ass - and Gabrielle Anwar who looks fantastically hot and has a terrible accent and it's definitely going to be my summer fling.

Now THAT is a perfectly valid reason not to buy a car ;). Not that I ever doubted your validity... Um. ok. moving on....

I'm so dejected that I got here a day too late for your party! I heard it was the event of the season.

Dude, we missed you!! I'm so glad you're here now, adding extra spice to the already spicy fantasticness of shoemoney haus!

The party was fantastic. I could not have asked for more!
