Less Insane Today Than Yesterday
May. 6th, 2008 04:52 pmEveryone is grateful for my return to something less than panicky and freaked out and self-loathing. I give it a thumbs up.
The body issues linger, but they're minor today in the grander scheme of things (the grander scheme involving two magazines to get out the door, an intern to hire, a short story to finish, and a pile of copy to read that extends pass my head). Plus, a little texty flirting with the boy who lives too far away and who may never actually venture this far north again, thereby eliminating any chance we have of an actual second date, but you know what? I could use a little virtual flirting these days!
You know what else is hilarious? The amount of money knowing Latin has earned me over the years. Seriously, as I did not follow through to be a classics scholar (beyond the BA level), Latin is more a tool for translating badly worded spells on various entertainment outlets, or saying rude things about sheep, etc. But, there's a slew of private schools in the greater LA area, and many of them still require Latin of their students.
Finally, in conclusion, as I love to read aloud, I was thinking of reading one of my fics for a pod cast, but a) I don't know which one anyone would be interested in and b) if I could get through one without horror.
Thoughts? Requests? I am also considering reading the endless short story out loud and listening to it to edit it, but that might really make me ill.
