SG-1 Question for Crackfic

Although I'm perfectly willing to handwave this, the fabulous kernezelda is a far more conscientious writer than I, and brought up the question of how Daniel would understand Aeryn. So, how do they know what people are saying on the other side of the gate? I could solve the problem by putting this in Season 4, but frankly, I want it to be cracktastic and not terribly angsty. This decision is not set in stone, but the language thing should probably be vaguely addressed:)
