Shift in the Weather is Bound to Be Extreme

Tired, so very very tired. And about to exit the established health care system!! Whoo Hoo. Dr. on Thursday which should lead to ultrasound which should lead to freedom from the Coumadin. And I am finally taking care of my ER visit charges from December. Bloody insurance took five months to pay which sent the bill to a collection agent who ultimately is only trying to collect $50. Had they told me at any point in this debacle that they just wanted $50, I'd have paid them with nary a qualm. Frelling insurance! Frelling ridiculous health care system. I had to make this appointment six weeks in advance! Argh. There's just no thought towards preventative health care. If I'm bleeding out my eyeballs, I think I'd probably be okay, but in order to maintain my health, I have to rearrange my life to see the doctor for twenty minutes.

Enough of that.

I have finished the last Kenzie/Gennaro novel which means I've read all of Lehane and now I'm bereft. Anyone have an antidote. I want something on par with Lehane, with characters I like of both genders. I was looking at Ian Rankin, but I don't have a context or a rec for him. Suggestions are more than welcome.

Took a bath last night, freaked out about the cat because he sat on the side of the tub, and put his tail in the water. Eventually, I just attributed it to the heat of the water and his general freakiness. He then compounded the problem by flipping water everywhere with his long monkey tail. I guess if it doesn't bother him, it shouldn't bother me.

Also, go forth and sign up for the Multiverse 2005 ficathon. It was a hell of a lot of fun last year.
