Allergic to the World
Sep. 1st, 2003 05:37 pmSo I'm waiting for my student, who is clearly not going to show up, which pisses me off because I could be at home watching the rest of the MI-5 marathon which is what I was doing before I bothered to bathe and get dressed and leave the house. I stayed in my pajamas all day because I am apparently allergic to the entire Southern California region and feel like crap. I spent all day yesterday at bbq's outside, sneezing, coughing, drinking margaritas, and generally feeling miserable and nothing seems to be helping, so I'm really frelling cranky. Don't feel like reading or writing, and I feel like a slug for lazing about watching TV.
On the upside, I got to see the three MI-5 eps I hadn't seen, although the season finale was ruined for me by frigging A&E who completely gave away what was going to happen. The series improved radically from Ep. 1 to Ep. 6. I'm not sure how I feel about Tom, pretty as he is. He's a bit morose and hangdoggy for me, but he has lovely, questionable morals. And beautiful eyelashes. They all do - morals, not eyelashes. Tessa now. Her I adore. Shifty and smart and out for herself.
I figured out, to some extent how to write through the mental block on Blue Eyes. I think I know where to go next, now I just have to write it, when I can stop sneezing on the computer screen. It's mothers and daughters, wants and wishes and when do you finally let your children make their own mistakes, and how do you deal with the consequences. I feel much better now.

suelac has pointed out, and reiterated a 7 Virtues challenge. I think that's going to be my side project for this week if I can get my 3 chapters written. It'll be my personal treat.
Hope everyone had a labor free Labor day, and that those not partaking of the fine American "summer's over now get your asses back to work on Friday" holiday, still had a lovely Monday.
I'm going home, student be damned. He's clearly not showing. I'm going to go watch John Quixote to make myself feel better. And I'm going to drink a cherry lambic while I do it.
