Money doesn't grow on trees? Well, hell.
Aug. 4th, 2003 10:58 amIt sounds like everyone at ScaperCon and everyone at the UnCon had a marvelous time, and except for a little bit of participation on Friday morning, I missed them both. It's that whole not having internet at home right now thing. It will get fixed, I just have to stop losing my temper with the idiots at SBC.
veritykindle and
rubberneck, I owe you both an address - if you are still willing to send me goodies:) I'll get right on that.
Weekend was good. I went out on Friday night, suffered the next day and then had a lovely dinner with my two closest friends in L.A. on Saturday night, came home and discovered that A&E broadcasts MI-5 at 11 p.m. on Saturday night, so I got to watch it and enjoyed it very much.
And yesterday, I beat my body to a pulp and shopped. Krav Maga was a killer and I have huge bruises on the backs of both arms and everything hurts. To think, I actually pay to do this to myself.
I missed my niece's fist birthday, and am desperately trying to make up for that, so I bought her a huge stuffed leopard at FAO Schwartz. He's bigger than my cats and so soft and huggable and I need to put him in the suitcase so I'm not tempted to keep him. I also bought her a soft cell phone that rings and makes other noises. Her mom will loove that:) And books. I bought her several board books because the very cute daddy of a one year old in the bookstore recommended them. Yes, I'm trying to buy her love - and my family's forgiveness - with presents. And yes, I am ashamed of myself.
Oh, and I finished Mystic River. ( Hmmm. I did like it. )
