Things That Make Me Happy
Aug. 1st, 2008 11:48 pmI don't know who's responsible for this meme, but I love it. (I had a sucktastic day at work, and a lovely evening so I'm happy to focus on the the good.)
So, things that made me happy in the past 24 hours:
1) Mamma Mia with
rossetti at the Arc Light. I had a martini. We had a glorious, giddy, joyful time, and the ArcLight remains my favorite movie theater in the city because of assigned seats and no late entrances. The guys sitting next to me were singing, which was good as I was as ludicrously loud and happy as I ever am when something delights me and I would have hated to have damaged their type of good time.
2. The godchild who told me, "I have a magnifying glass and a pirate map." on the phone last night. Also, there is no treasure, so one wonders what the map is for.
3. Pantsless activities. Not just the dirty kind (although hallelujah for those), but just the general state of being pantsless. (And any other children of the '80s every wonder why in soft core teen movies, girls always sat around in their panties with no bra? Doing their homework, or brushing their hair in front of an open window?
4. Inexplicably, Gossip Girl. Apparently, I have no shame.
5. Terry Pratchett. Always. And wow, he goes so well with H. Murakami, they're like the perfect meal.
6. Cat 1 and Cat 2. But mostly and always the Georgie. Who remains the sweetest boy ever.
7. Greek isle daydreams of water and words and pantslessness, because the fantasy is a cliche, but it's a worthy one.
