I loved it. He's so... happy. And I agree, I was terribly surprised by how happy he seemed to be there, to be playing, and he was indeed hilarious. All the intros were these great little snapshots into his brain in the sort of precise language that my four year old godchild uses, every syllable slurrily articulated:) The show was great, energetic and wonderful, and I was sort of giddy with how... gleeful he seemed to be:)
Plus, at the second encore, they played an old, old punk song whose title I've since forgotten and Darnelle says, "Sometimes, I need to express my inner goth," and I just fell for him even harder:)
