Shout Out to the Flist

It's hot here.

And sticky.

But I saw Superman Returns with filmg33k and a fabulous time was had, despite the comedy of errors that was us getting into the theater. I went to her place so we could go to the Los Feliz Grand, and when that was sold out, we drove to the Chinese which was by my house and got in. The movie was entirely effecting, and fun, and I agree completely with Kath. It's exactly what a superhero movie should be despite making absolutely no sense in places. I kinda of totally loved it.

I'm shepherding a bunch of International Scholars around the city tomorrow. Oy. It's going to be sticky.

And I'm currently watching Ghostbusters. Yeah for our ridiculous temporary cable package. I have an unholy love for this movie.

And for the actual reason behind this post. I'm looking for Chinese Fairytales. Particularly ones that have a darker sort of bent. Anyone have any ideas? I pretty much know my regular fairy tales - Western and Eastern European. I even have a passing knowledge of Japanese folk tales. But Chinese seems to have passed me by.

Hanging Head in Shame and Beggin for Beta

Anyone up for doing a super quick beta for me this evening or tomorrow? I can send the story this afternoon or tonight.

There would be sloppy kisses and Sangria and possibly some groveling or porn offered in payment. Or you know, a combination of all of the above.

And yes, this is for my own ficathon. Shut up. I know. Beat's self with noodles. Then is incredibly grossed out by the food touching me and runs away.

Thelma and Louise Ficathon Update

Due to the, um, large number of people who aren't quite done, I'm extending the deadline until Friday.

Which is a nice way of saying that all of you who let me know that you wouldn't be posting tomorrow are forgiven, those of you who are already done and have your stories beta'd and ready to post, you totally get ponies and Guiness and can taunt the others. I'll give you names:)

Basically, I'll put up the post tomorrow as scheduled, but there will be no harassment for the rest of you until Friday. If you haven't, or cannot, post by Friday night, you will be taunted, but your stories will still be lovingly accepted.

That being said, these stories should at the very least be beta'd. And y'all'd better hope your recipients don't cry and gnash their teeth at having to wait:)
