Home safely on New Year's Eve, and this one started off far, far better than the last. I will say only that I'm even more grateful to the continent and country of Australia than I was before:)

I missed everyone, and hope you all had a safe and happy holiday and start to 2005.

I crocheted more, and am making wool leg warmers for ballet. They look particularly appropriate for a ballerina planning on dancing on top of a mountain range, but making socks was a challenge I couldn't ignore.

My stepmother fell in love with Zach Braff and Garden State. You'd have to know my stepmother to realize how funny and totally whacked this is:)

Someone sent a box of Jelly Beans to our office. I love that person. Jelly Beans on the first day back from a two week holiday is something to be thrilled with.

We have no heat in our house, so M. and I curl up under the quilt like small children, sleeping and watching movies, drinking beer and keeping the cats warm. M. has a waiting job with real people hours. He's adjusting better than expected, but he never called the landlord to fix the heat while I was gone. It's not like we live in a cold climate, but it's cold as fuck in our house. Hmm, that seems like an oxymoron of a semi-metaphor.

Am trying to readjust to a normal life. Went to bed at 7 a.m on New Year's Day, woke with a champagne and late night hangover. And a good time was had by all. Spent yesterday at the studio, standing around in my purple boots waiting to go home.

The visit home was good, nervish and trying and warm and fabulous and hard. So very hard, my dad and his rises and falls, my mom and I so close and it's hard to seperate, my darling niece and nephew, and my family, my aunt and uncle and cousin and the things between the three of them. Resentment and restitution and a lot of stuff that should have been spoken years ago.

Far far too much information. Trust me on this. )

I like this version of this meme, so although I've already listed my smutty and prolific output, I think I'd like to follow through on it this way as well. Format stolen from [livejournal.com profile] suelac. I like the clarity of it after my ramble. It's like the first and second draft, one after another. And in an attempt to find drabbles i thought were funny, I started to count my drabbles. I'm up to 25 and that was mid-April. I will report on a final count later. But oy.
