Okay, not so much. Friday afternoon. Doing a quick edit of the um, post Bad Timing John and John's right hand fic so I can post it to Kansas. I'm still very fond of this piece. It needs a serious edit, but well, not as much as the stories with plot need finishing:)

People are giddy, or trying to get their giddy on, so go help 'em out. [livejournal.com profile] saava wants to know the moment you first fell for Farscape, so go here, help her squee and distract her from the swimmer lust.

[livejournal.com profile] hobsonphile is running a Rygel ficathon, and the entries are due next week. Whoo Hoo:)

And [livejournal.com profile] reblog is hosting a Jool ficathon. Gotta love the love for redheads:) So go forth, and sign up, give Jool some sugar, or a good smack on the ass. She deserves both:) Go here and sign up!

And last but not least, it's Use It or Lose It time at [livejournal.com profile] farscapefriday. Celebrate Farscape's return to the screen by drabbling in one of the 25 different challenges we've run since April.

I'm sure I've done my top 10 before, and the spots waver and vary, and are completely subject to change and to my whims, but as of right now they are:

Okay, so that's a pretty generous interpretation of 10:) Frell it, I can barely choose, so some of them tie. I can't put Infinite Possibilities in there, or The Choice, even though I love them, even though I think they're amazing television. They're favorites, but they hurt so badly. And if I put in IP, then I'd have to put in TBRC, and then that would lead to TFAL, and then The Flax, and then veer off into TTLG, and A Bug's Life, and Family Ties, and the next thing you know I'd have all 88 eps in the top 10. Which, well, yeah.

10.GEM/Beware of Dog - I'm a complete and total sap, but I love the language of GEM, the angst and the quadrangle, and "Talyn, you've seen them both naked..." The snark and the humor and the pain, and the obvious love letter that the episode is to the other actors and the series.

And BoD. Dude, I know it's corny, I know that the little Vorc dying at the end is overkill, but I just love it!! Total comfort ep, with John seein' spooks, Aeryn trying to keep him in line, the fantastic partnership, the bugs, and of course, the discussion in front of the Vorc, and "The answer to that is no!"

9. Bringing Home The Beacon/Promises - My girl comes back, and comes back fucked. And with a really bad fellow traveler. She wears the Scorpy suit, damages M. for life, and gives us some solid, intense painful moments.

BHTB - She just kicks all sorts of ass. And the whole ep is tight, featuring each actress, each character as smart and compelling, and the situation as something that just can't end well. And then the end. Oh god, the end.

8. Revenging Angel- brilliant. Cracked up and brilliant. Revenge and cartoons and what brings people together, makes 'em keep going.

7. John Quixote - hee, I just have no words. The Princess and the Ogre. Max Headroom. Sideways. Fucking brilliant. And [livejournal.com profile] rubberneck has promised to write an essay on Farscape and vintage porn like Behind the Green Door. (I think that title isn't right, but it makes me think of JQ, even though her inspiration is Scratch n' Sniff).

6. Terra Firma/Constellation of Doubt - You can never go home again. We knew that. The writers did to, and how. Distance, fear, and the subtle damage of bigotry and prejudice and how we grow beyond what we know, and how we can hate that as well.

5. LGM 1- KFC. And those coats. And that kiss. And the Han Solo moment at the end. Love and guns and snark.

4.Fractures- Other options, other fates, overcoming pain, puppet sex, and god I just want to cry when Crichton does and then the world's second longest frelling hiatus.

3. DMD- trauma. The best season ender. Ever.

2. DWTB/A Human Reaction - They're parallels, really. John's daydreams and nightmares. The way those have both changed and remained the same, and the futility of keeping your dreams stagnant. Do I need to mention how much DWTB makes me sob, how remarkable a piece of film it is?

1. Different Destinations/Unrealized Realities- Again, parallel pieces. Time, ripples, the effects of bad choices and the "this ain't yer daddy's sci-fi show" ending of DD. And alternate universes, alternate realities, love and gender, loyalty and survival, and ultimately responsability. And who didn't gasp when
"Home" actually turned out to be, well, home.

God, I'm finally believing that it's real. Must go buy clean video tapes. I already ransacked the bills to make sure the cable's paid up.

oh yes to John Quixote, rygel as the black knight: "none shall pass" *swoons with joy* at this episode. i showed it to a friend who doesn't watch and you could see her becoming contaminated. pure joy. and different destinations/unrealized realities. this is visually one of the most stunning episodes. and that scene at the end "oops". so wonderful.

ultimately i can't pick, i start and the next thing i know i've got *all* the episodes listed. maybe it's like what i used to say about grateful dead shows: "it's all the same show, it's just that some set breaks are longer than others". so, we've had a really long set break, and i'm very happy we get to see what happens next in canon. *bg*

*rushes off to call cable company because that's a good idea too* squeeee!!!
