I've been of two minds about this - because I'm desperately sentimental. I'm just not sure someone's clothing would have been kept, and not used for that long in these circumstances. They have to scavenge so much, so as you said, unless they just got shoved somewhere and forgotten about, I don't see them be saved as a gesture of sentiment.
