Getting My Ass in Gear, In Theory
May. 13th, 2008 12:23 pmSigh, not so much in practice. Two mornings I'd planned to get up and run. Two mornings I've hit the snooze alarm until I was only marginally on time for work. Mornings are just not the ideal time for me. I mean I feel good if I exercise before I start my day, but my inability to force myself into bed at a decent hour means my morning resolve is nil. For lo, I am at heart a big slug.
That I bookended this sluggishness with an ultra decadent dinner last night (Crudo/Bar at Breadbar) and a chocolate almond croissant this morning (courtesy of the folks at Breadbar who could not get the concept of filling our water glasses down, but did need to unload some of the day's bread - scored 1/2 a cherry loaf, an olive loaf, a cheese loaf, and a chocolate almond croissant by virtue of it looking more almondy than chocolatey:) does not help my push towards health and fitness.
The dinner was amazing and weird and fun (foodwise) and ended with a white chocolate risotto with hints of shaved chocolate, orange peel and candied fruit that was divine.
I got home and sat on the couch with M. watching movie trailers on YouTube, and discovering that in the world of Superhero comics, people frequently make their own trailers of the movies they want to see, which I find sort of charming and hilarious. Then we watched the very brief "Green Lantern" trailer and M. tried to explain Green Lantern's power to me, which said out loud is hilariously silly (he's got a ring? Powered by a green lantern? And can make anything? But is defeated by yellow? Seriously?) Granted, M. may not have done the best describing job, but we were both laughing so hard by the end that I lost track, plus, as M. said, he'd be the worst Green Lantern ever being red/green color blind! That set us off into another gale of hilarity.
Also, dear editors, please to be getting all the crap out of the copy editors cube so that she'll have somewhere to sit and will stay and do her job and I don't have to lose my mind anymore!!!
Finally, of all the TV I'm currently missing out on, Bones is the show I most want to catch up on. Go figure!! So, hints for how to do so would be VASTLY appreciated!
