Well, only in terms of working from it. I cleaned my room enough so that I can now work at my laptop station. Inserted baffled and joyous squee here. The laptop desk baffles the cat who can't get onto because there's no place for him, so instead he sits on top of the TV (which is on the floor because the cable is too short for it to go anywhere) and stares up at me and makes his displeasure known. This is an exciting development in the feng shuing/getting rid of the crap plan of attack for making my life more liveable.
Did yoga again, and still like the chanting. There's something very comforting, very other worldly about the way that combined harmony links people together. Much as I've always hated going to church (dude, no one would let me bring a book!!!), I loved going to Quaker service. I feel the same way about this Sunday morning yoga. It's very centering, it kicks my ass physically, and there's tea at the end. The yoga lady also has these cool bowls that are some sort of resonating chime and they fill the house with this low deep hum when she hits them.
I have been playing Jenny Lewis and the Watson Twins cover of "Handle With Care" on very, very loud repeat. My neighbors must be heartily sick of it, but the song is just so joyous. It captures what I love about covers - the same joy, a different interpretation. Although this version, not so different, just sweeter somehow. One of my least favorite covers - surprisingly - is Robyn Hitchcock's version of "Visions of Johanna". It's a song that made him want to write songs, but it feels and sounds like he missed the point. I also have no versions of Bob Dylan singing "Love is Just A Four Letter Word." That's just sad. I'm not actually sure there are versions of it. So, favorite covers? Least favorite covers?
