Breathing for Dummies
Jun. 17th, 2003 01:55 pmI hate being sick for many reasons, the main one being that I feel the need to share my misery with everyone. However, after my Theraflu and bourbon cureall I do feel much better. Actually, I probably feel better because I was supine for 6 hours last night while the boys went to the store, came home and fixed me dinner and generally babied me. I can't actually taste anything, but it was a lovely gesture. They also let me watch a program on Jazz on American Experience.
I love jazz, real jazz like Charlie Parker and John Coltrane and Miles Davis - which makes it sound like I have a thing for heroin addicts, but the addiction accompanied the genius, that striving to always exist in the place that playing music puts you in. Dexter Gordon and Thelonious Monk and Stan Getz and Max Roach, and of course Lady Day and Carmen McCrae and Sarah Vaughn.
( Straight, No Chaser - Cool Jazz, baby )
I finished Undertones, and will probably post it tonight or tomorrow. I'm not sure about the ending, didn't end up changing much of Parts I and II, but ended up being pleased with it nonetheless. Who'd a thought.
I forgot to tape Incubator last night - part of the ass watching, DBZ taping fiasco - but caught parts of it. I just hate having sympathy for the villain, even though he does try to lie to his own Crichton/Harvey. And the equations dancing around John, I just love this, along with the crankiness and blame being thrown around Moya. And how much do I love D'Argo and his flibisks.
